Mark Valentino, owner of Valentino’s Seafood, is a third generation waterman who fished the waters of the Texas coast for shrimp and oysters. From the Model T powered boat of his grandfather to the steel and fiberglass vessels that the Valentino family fishes today, Mark has been involved in fisheries.

Whether fishing or owning and operating Bay Fresh Oyster where he bought, processed and sold our fine Texas product, Mark has always had a dream. To serve the highest quality of local wild caught seafood in a unique restaurant using a blend of family and Chef created specialty recipes.

In this great country of ours it seems almost everyone loves the taste of seafood. From fast food to epicurean delights, seafood is on the menu. Our country’s expansive coastlines allow us to enjoy the many types of seafood that are unique to many different areas. While shrimp is the number one preferred seafood nationwide, according to the National Fisheries Institute it is right here in Texas where we can truly enjoy the very best.

What most people do not realize is that on the American market wild caught shrimp supply only eight to twelve percent of consumer needs. In Texas we are twice blessed. Not only do we have excellent inshore fisheries but also they are bringing to the docks what is undoubtedly the finest shrimp to be caught. Compared to imported and pond raised shrimp the sweet taste and subtle flavor nuances of Texas wild caught shrimp really stands out.
